FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

I'm new to floorball, can I play?

• Of course! Our leagues cater to new players and at any given point of time many of our league players are brand-new. Join alone or with a friend and we will make sure that you feel welcome.

Where are the games played?

• Elite games are played at The Hangar at Downsview Park.
• Intermediate and Ladies games are played at West Toronto Collegiate located at 330 Lansdowne Avenue just north of College. The school is easily accessible by subway (Bloor line to Lansdowne), College or Dundas street car, Bus or by Car. There is plenty of free street parking for those who drive.
• Youth games are played at Crescent Private School.

When are the games played?

• ELITE DIVISION games are Monday nights.
• INTERMEDIATE DIVISION games are Wednesday or Thursday nights, with the majority of games played on Wednesday nights. The final breakdown between the two nights will be determined based on how many teams register.
• YOUTH DIVISION games are Friday nights.
• There are no games at West Toronto during holidays as per the TDSB Calendar.

How many games are there?

• The ELITE DIVISION runs from Sept 28th to May with 20 regular season games planned for each team plus exhibition games and playoffs.
• The INTERMEDIATE DIVISION is split into two seasons - one that runs from Sept 30th to the end of December and another that runs from January to May. There are 10 regular season games per team planned plus exhibition nights and playoffs.

Can I join with friends?

• Yes, you can join with friends in the INTERMEDIATE DIVISION. Please specify who you want to play with on your sign-up form and we will make sure you are on the same team. In the ELITE DIVISION we cannot guarantee that you will be placed on the same team as your friends.

Can I enter my own team?

• Yes, you can enter your own team! This option is only open for the INTERMEDIATE DIVISION.

Can I join more than one leagues?

• Yes, you can play in as many leagues as you want.

When is the registration deadline?

• ELITE DIVISION - September 24th at 1 PM
• INTERMEDIATE DIVISION - September 25th at 11:55 PM
• LADIES DIVISION - September 25th at 11:55 PM
• YOUTH DIVISION - September 30th at 11:55 PM

Is the league insured?

• All league players are automatically registered for Ontario Floorball/Unihockey Federation membership (a $10 value!) which includes full insurance and other benefits. For more information, please contact the OFUF's Membership Coordinator Paul Charbonneau.

How much does it cost?

• The fee to join the ELITE DIVISION entry draft is $100, which includes 5 regular season games. Fees for the entire season vary by team but are expected to be $300-400.
• The INTERMEDIATE DIVISION fee is $150 or $1,350 for a team.
• The LADIES DIVISION fee is $140.
• The YOUTH DIVISION fee is $130.
• Note: All fees include GST.

Why does the ELITE DIVISION cost more than the INTERMEDIATE DIVISION?

• The ELITE DIVISION runs from October to May while the INTERMEDIATE DIVISION is split into two seasons, one that runs from October to February and another than runs from February to May.
• Floor rental at Downsview Park is four times more expensive compared to the other facilities where we play.
