The 10th anniversary of the Canada Cup Floorball Championship was a huge success. 68 teams competed in 9 divisions for the right to be called 2013 Canada Cup Champions. Heading into the final day, four divisions had already been decided:
High School - Westmount Wildcats
Adult Women - Darkside FC
Midget - Ottawa Blizard 2
Rec - Belleville FC
Day four of the Canada Cup saw the finals move to the huge MAC Arena. The morning match-up was for the Intermediate Crown, with the Swiss Floorball Academy completing their unlikely rise from the wildcard bracket to win the divsion by a convincing 9-3 score against Young Guns IBK de Montréal.
The Bantam finals was the first of two games televised on Rogers TV and it too featured a team from the Swiss Floorball Academy. The visiting club were unable to win a second gold medal as their opponent, Parkland Warriors Floorball from Spruce Grove, Alberta won the tightly contested match 4-1.
The Elite final was also televised and featured the favorites Lindås Waves taking on Hamilton FC 1 in what was expected to be a relatively one sided game. The game featured a lot of action and when the dust setled, Lindås prevailed with a 9-6 score as Elite division MVP Robin Nilsberth scored a hat trick.
The next game was in the Peewee category as the Toronto Stars faced the Hamilton Floorhawks 1. The Floorhawks had a fast start and road their first period 4 goal outburst to a comfotable 6-1 victory, bringing the Hamilton club their first gold medal of the tournament.
The final match was for the Atom age group and pitted the Ottawa Blizzard against the newcomers Whitby Roadrunners. The Roadrunners played an extremely strong game and did not give the Blizzard a chance to get their second gold medal of the tournament as they prevailed 9-1.
